In all of American history, there has never been a party as desperate and corrupt as those who call themselves ‘Republicans’ today. They will lie, cheat, and likely murder in efforts to secure wins in elections. On Tuesday Jon Ossoff, the Democratic candidate for the House in Georgia was defeated; not by Karen Handel, but by a machine which believes in winning at all cost.

Days before the special election, the RNC paid for ads in the 6^th district which were blatant lies. They claimed that Mr. Ossoff “celebrated the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.”

With a leader who has never told the truth, one entire party is now convinced that they can win elections if they tell the most outrageous lies they can devise.

But let’s not cover up the most important facts in this election. First of all, voting for a party and ignoring the failings of that party’s candidate is idiocy. Political parties are bad for democracy. Secondly, Republicans played upon the emotions of uninformed Georgia voters, and this is why Ossoff lost; Handel was not the better candidate. She is homophobic, and a racist who will join her vile constituents in Washington.

Yesterday was another sad day for real Americans.

I’m just glad I do not live in the south.
