Trump has intentionally alienated our closest allies. While Great Britain continues to struggle to maintain a cohesive government, Germany and France have become the new leaders of the free world. Trump has literally shunned Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron. His heroes are Vladimir Putin, Rodrigo Duterte, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Trump has also stated that he would meet with North Korean despot Kim Jong-un.

If you look closely at the events in Turkey over the last four years, and compare them to Trump’s vision for America, you will understand why Erdogan is one of Trump’s heroes.

At the end of May in 2013, small protests about the government’s plans to demolish the last park in Istanbul, Gezi Park, grew into a national referendum against new rules emanating from Erdogan. His attempts to institute parts of sharia law resulted in raucous protests which lasted for days and the arrest of thousands.

While Erdogan was out of the country in 2016, a coup was attempted by parts of the military. Many, including myself, question the reality of the insurrection. Could it have been staged by Erdogan himself in and effort to consolidate power? Today Erdogan has removed nearly all democracy from Turkey. He has jailed so many dissidents, that new prisons were constructed. He forbids the use of most social media and controls the press. Only his ‘alternative facts’ are disseminated to the people.

Let’s take a look at Trump’s destructive actions.

He is isolating and dividing our nation. Bipartisanship has been eliminated in congress, as he refuses to allow Democrats to participate in the deliberation of legislation. Trump appointed an Attorney General who is attempting to change our laws in favor of the distorted views held by himself and his fuhrer.

Trump is attempting to discredit the legitimate press while supporting fake news. He receives his ‘information’ from the right wing propaganda machine, FOX Noise, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones whose podcast, ‘InfoWars,’ is a vile attack on our civil liberties, and ‘Breitbart,’ an extremist online and radio blog offering misinformation which can only be labeled as ‘hate speech.’

Trump is attempting to bring all power to the White House and destroy active participation by congress. His puppets, Lyin Paul Ryan, and Mitch ‘the traitor’ McConnell, have demonstrated that they will obey his every command. He has relinquished his position as ‘Commander-in-Chief;’ giving full control of our military to Secretary of Defense General James Mattis. This is a thinly veiled effort to insure support from our military, negating the possibility of a coup in the United States.

With assistance from Vladimir Putin, Trump is quickly destroying our Democratic Republic. He is removing all representation for the people in Washington which is in control of a partisan government.

His efforts to repeal the first amendment are relentless. The fourth estate is the eyes and ears of the American people which keep us aware of the actions of our government, and prevent unconstitutional and criminal action by those we elect. The press is critical in protecting our freedoms and rights as citizens of the United States.

We cannot allow Trump to become a dictator similar to those he admires. America must not become a fascist nation.

Trump thinks differently; he believes that 241 years is long enough. This freedom thing is overrated; he knows everything and he is smarter than everyone else.

Are you willing to raise your right arm and shout “Heil Trump?”
