A Bully in Business, and a Bully as your Illegitimate President: Trump is a Failure

Heller and McCaskill

I live in Northern Nevada. I grew up in California, and after a trip in October of 1985, I decided to move to the “Silver State.” I have nothing but great things to say about both states; I have lived in the best places in our country, at the best times.

Therefore, when your illegitimate president threatened one of our state’s senators, I got a little upset.

Dean Heller was not and would not be my choice in an election. My wife has called his office many, many times to ask him to do the right thing. To his staff’s credit, she has received a response each time; not necessarily the one she would have liked, but a response nonetheless. Because he is one of only eight Republican senators who is up for reelection in 2018, Senator Heller became the target of Trump’s efforts to bully Republicans into passing his deplorable healthcare plan and repeal Obamacare, although every medical care organization in America has denounced it. The American people offer only 12 percent approval.

Look, he wants to remain a senator, doesn’t he?” Trump asked, Heller smiling at his side. “Okay, and I think the people of your state, which I know very well, I think they’re going to appreciate what you hopefully will do.”

First of all Trump’s ignorance rises to the surface once again. Nevada has become a ‘blue’ state. In 2016 our Electoral votes went to Hillary; Catherine Cortez Masto became the first female Hispanic Senator by defeating Republican Joe Heck; we passed recreational marijuana and comprehensive background checks for all gun sales although our Republican Governor, and Republican State Attorney General opposed the measures. We oppose Trumpcare and support Obamacare.

I was upset with Heller as well. As Trump obviously threatened him regarding his reelection, Heller feigned a hearty laugh. He displayed a lack of courage and lost all dignity by doing so. He should have shown displeasure for the lack of respect offered to him by his immoral president. Instead, when Heller was questioned about the incident later, he said: “That’s just President Trump being President Trump.” Really?

And there’s the core of the problem; Trump fails to act like a president. Trump is not my president and he’s not yours. He does not represent you, your needs or your wishes. He is one of our nation’s 585 billionaires, and they are his constituents.

Although I have absolutely no respect for Trump as a man or as your illegitimate president, I am actually more angry at Republicans in Washington. They continue to support Trump although everything he proposes will harm the vast majority of the American people, violate the Constitution, and destroy democracy. As a group they have proven that they are incapable of governing, but they must have sufficient intelligence to know the truth, but they do nothing about it. Trump will be remembered as the worst president in history, and forever linked with a Republican controlled congress who did nothing but bow to their failed leader.

Please re-post; thank you.
