Republicans waged war against most of America 20 years ago. They consider the middle class, the poor, minorities, Muslims, and women to be their mortal enemies. They also hate the American Civil Liberties Union for fighting for the Constitutional rights of all Americans.
In May your illegitimate president signed an executive order he claims is based on ‘religious freedom.’ The truth is that is intended to protect the Christian religious right and it’s lobby, and ignores all other Americans their rights under the first amendment. The order allows political campaign speeches in places designed for the worship of god, and protects businesses which are homophobic.
The ACLU filed lawsuits against the US Departments of Health and Human Services, Justice, Labor and Treasury violated a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records request when they did not respond to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
Regardless of whether you are religious or not, all of the people in America are protected from religious persecution, and have the right to either practice the faith of their choice or none at all. The first amendment forbids the dominance of one religion.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Our founding fathers considered the first amendment the most important part of the Constitution. It guarantees the basic rights of all Americans, and the fact that the first words guarantee freedom of or from religion; all religions; indicates their most adamant belief.
When the 14th amendment was added, it further guaranteed equal protection under the law for all Americans. No single agency, organization, race, or religion will be allowed precedence over another.
When Trump signed this order, he was doing so in support of Mike Pence. Pence was the first governor to sign an anti-gay law in Indiana. This order, in support of the Indiana law, allows businesses to deny services to the LGBTQ community based on their fake-Christian beliefs. This is discrimination, and has faced previous actions in the courts, and was defeated.
The hypocrisy displayed by Trump is unforgivable; his only god is money. He is appeasing Mike Pence’ fake-Christian stand on the issues. I say ‘fake,’ because Jesus Christ would not support racism and bigotry. Christians in general are the biggest hypocrites in the entire world. They frequently select a few words from the bible to support their personal prejudices.
The ACLU will win their lawsuits unless Trump repeals the Constitution; and I know he’s trying very hard.
