Jeff Sessions’ Career Tainted by Controversy, and Questionable Actions

Sessions (3)

Not only was Jeff Sessions the most controversial of Trump’s nominees; (and that says a lot; all of them remain questionable today); he remains at the center of the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russian agents.

Sessions has a long history of racism and bigotry. No one should be surprised; he is from Alabama. Sessions was rejected for a federal judgeship in 1986 after charges of racism were levied against him, but he is now our nation’s chief law enforcement officer; and there’s something wrong with that picture.

Sessions also offered his approval of the Ku Klux Klan, until he learned that they smoked that ‘evil weed,’ marijuana. He opposes the NAACP, the organization mostly responsible for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Although he claims that he litigated in favor of civil rights laws, the fact is that he not only opposed them, he filed lawsuits against civil rights activists and accused them of voter fraud.

Recently Sessions gave a speech to the ‘Alliance Defending Freedom.’ The Southern Poverty Law Center has defined this organization as a ‘hate group,’ similar to the ‘Alt Right,’ the KKK, and the ‘Aryan Brotherhood.’

We know that Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, Betsy DeVos, Robert Mercer, and Jeff Sessions support white nationalism. I wonder when we’ll learn how many more of his circle of sinners are white supremacists.

Sessions has been caught in more lies. American counterintelligence agencies have learned that the AG had at least two phone conversations with Sergey Kislyak. Sessions previously lied about his meetings during the campaign with Kislyak and possible other Russian agents.

If the American people cannot trust its chief law enforcement officer, who can we trust? The answer is ‘no one’ in the Trump administration.

Sessions was forced through his senate confirmation hearings by McConnell. He never should have been allowed to dictate legal policy which will cause harm to minorities and the poor.

Please re-post; thank you.
