Hey Trump: You were Speaking to Boy Scouts, and You cannot Say or Do whatever You Want

Boy Scouts

For over two years I have been wrong dozens and dozens of times. Every time Trump does or says something outrageous; proving that he needs mental healthcare; which will not be available with Trumpcare; I believed that nothing else could top his actions or words. I admit when I’m wrong, and I have been very wrong.

Trump’s latest farce happened when he appeared before the ‘Boy Scout Jamboree’ in West Virginia Monday evening. This was his most outrageous and embarrassing moment to this date; but the day is young.

Trump’s “rally” lasted for 38 minutes. When President Obama spoke to the Scouts, he spoke on video for only one minute and 34 seconds, and offered the following to the young men.

“For a century, scouts just like you have served your communities in ways big and small,” said Obama, a former member. “During World War II, scouts played a vital role at home by running messages and selling war bonds.”

After mentioning that 11 of 12 men who walked on the moon were scouts themselves, he closed with the following.

“That service is worth celebrating, but there’s still more to do,” said Obama. “Even though we face a different set of challenges than we did 100 years ago, you’re no less important. In the years ahead we’re going to depend on you, the next generation of leaders, to move America forward.”

President Obama offered praise and encouragement as did other presidents had in the eight decades of this tradition. What did Trump tell the scouts.

He bashed Hillary Clinton. He spoke of what he called ‘the difficulty of winning the Electoral College,’ and how ‘easy it was for Hillary to win the poplar vote;’ (why didn’t he win both in that case)? Trump talked about loyalty. He noticed the size of the crowd and credited himself for it. (The crowd was likely larger than those who attended his inauguration.) But the most disgusting section of his lengthy speech concerned Trumpcare. HHS Tom Price was in attendance. He asked Price if he was going to get the votes needed to pass the senate version of Trumpcare. Then Trump said that he’d better, or ‘he’d get fired.’

The entire 38 minutes was another Trump campaign rally. At one point he even bragged about an acquaintance who became very wealthy, and purchased a yacht. Trump then inferred that this man had many sexual relations on that yacht.

Former scouts and parents were not pleased with Trump’s braggadocio and improper comments.

Is nothing safe?” Jon Wolfsthal, a former special assistant to President Barack Obama, wrote on Twitter, saying Trump turned the event into a “Nazi Youth rally.”

Criticism came from both sides of the aisle.

I just don’t think it was appropriate,” said Rob Romalewski, a Republican and retired information-technology expert from suburban New Orleans who attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a teenager and has worked with the Boy Scouts all his adult life.

It just doesn’t seem like he was talking to the boys,” Romalewski said. “He was more or less just using it as an excuse to babble on.”

Zach Wahls, an Eagle Scout and co-founder of Scouts for Equality, a nonprofit group that has pushed to end discrimination against gay and transgender people in Scouting, said Trump’s remarks “really harmed the Boy Scouts’ ability to do that work, which is all about serving America.”

The wrong speech at the wrong place at the wrong time,” Wahls said.

You know that comprehensive psychiatric evaluation I keep referring to? Now do you think it’s time to require Trump to be tested?

Please re-post; thank you.
