“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,” Trump said in a series of tweets. “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”

The former was a statement made by Donald Trump on Wednesday. There are some things you should know about this prejudiced statement. First of all he lied; (is anyone surprised?). He never consulted with a single person; military or non-military. Secondly, the Pentagon replied and said that Trump will not change policy with a statement.

General Joseph Dunford is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. For now, Dunford has informed service members that there will be “no modifications to the current policy until the President’s direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidelines.”

“In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect,” Dunford wrote in a memo to the military that was obtained by CNN. “As importantly, given the current fight and the challenges we face, we will all remain focused on accomplishing our assigned missions.”

Trump continues to believe that he is a king; an autocrat. He continues to display his ignorance; believing that his word automatically becomes law. Grow up Donny boy, and learn how to do your job.

The military has thousands of transgendered personnel. They serve at all levels; in all branches; and both in combat and support. Trump’s unconstitutional plan is despicable, and offers additional proof that he knows nothing about governing, military demographics, and international relations. He is literally ‘good for nothing.’

John McCain said that he was surprised at the statement.

“I think they realize they made a mistake,” the Arizona Republican said. “I think generally speaking, it’s accepted you consult the secretary of defense before you make a decision that has to do with defending the nation. Mattis was going through a study that they’d done for six months, and he had just extended.”

Some will say that ‘Trump is just being Trump.’ I say that he is a liar and a bigot, and cannot be rightfully called the President of the United States. Trump is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the people of America. He knows absolutely nothing about the position he holds in government. He has proven that passing legislation is impossible when it is rushed and does not involve both parties; hours and hours of discussion; committee involvement; and eventual compromise.
