In 1976 Chuck Barris created the ‘Gong Show.’ He starred in this ‘satire’ of game shows. It ran for four seasons, and has experienced a revival this year with “Tommy Maitland” as its host. The truth is that SNL’s Mike Myers is in make-up and is the show’s hysterical lead character.

The show features a series of odd musical, comedic, and circus acts, all pursuing a small cash prize. None of them are legitimate entertainers, and yet somehow, if you leave reality behind and accept the fantasy, the show is filled with laughter and a certain level of wondrous entertainment.

In January of this year, the “Gong Show” moved to the White House. It established itself as a farce which is incapable of being an honest and truthful form of entertainment. Its participants are not aware that they will be laughed at constantly. Apparently they are much more arrogant than the entertainers on the real ‘Gong Show,’ and take themselves far too seriously.

Like the contestants on the television broadcast, they are not to be taken seriously. They lack any qualifications to be serious members of our government.

Each broadcast has a single ‘contestant’ whose purpose is to be so ridiculous that he or she is ‘gonged’ before he or she can complete their act. This is Donald Trump. Like this ‘contestant,’ he cannot be taken seriously and lacks any talent to allow himself to continue to be embarrassed, and destroy the respect of our nation.

Not a single man or woman in America who understands our political system and cares about our nation’s future will ever accept the Trump administration as a serious political force. They are circus clowns who are ‘faking it.’ They lie, they misdirect, and they use theatrics to confuse the uninformed. Those of us who know the reality of Washington politics understand that nothing positive will every happen under Trump and his circle of sinners. They are attempting to provide entertainment for our nation, but instead they are creating a growing fear and a complete lack of faith in their government.

A few days ago Trump added one more buffoon to his deplorable White House staff. Anthony Scaramucci is a caricature. He is what bad comedies use to ridicule New Jersey Mafia wannabees. If Trump did not have the ability to destroy democracy and cause irreparable harm to our nation, this entire administration would be laughable.

The cast of characters includes Kellyanne Conway, Steve Bannon, Jared Kushner, Jeff Sessions, Donald Jr., Paul Manafort, and of course Trump himself.

Kellyanne is the ‘mouthpiece.’ She is paid to be the official liar and use her words to protect the guilty.

Bannon is the ‘evil genius.’ His purpose is to create schemes and misdirection which will create illusions for the voting public.

Jared Kushner represents the true evil of the circle of sinners. He pretends to be a respectable 36-year-old man who is a bit naive, but is also a brilliant businessman, when in reality he is the most ambitious, and presents the greatest danger to the people.

Jeff Sessions is a white supremacist who never should have been confirmed as our nation’s Attorney General. He has become a man at the center of the Russian investigation and now the butt of Trump’s attacks for his failures. Sessions was the first senator to support Trump, and his loyalty is now awarded with threats of his removal.

Donald Jr. passed the test as the dumbest member of the Trump family; and that was a tough and hard fought battle. His e-mails where he attempted to collude with Russian agents has led to a consensus that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in an effort to defeat Hillary in 2016.

Paul Manafort might as well have renounced his American citizenship and pledged his loyalty to mother Russia. His connections and debts to Vladimir Putin and other Russian oligarchs are contained in a very long list of conspiratorial efforts.

Then there is Trump himself. His desire for monetary success, and his proclivity for sexual deviance has forced him to engage in activities which have exposed the immorality and ignorance of the man who now defiles the White House.

This version of the “Gong Show” is not funny, and not entertaining. It is disgusting and should be ‘gonged’ every moment they are allowed to control the executive branch of our government.

Time to take America seriously once again. The Constitution must be supported by the American people. As Trump attempts to repeal sections he opposes, our nation becomes weaker and in danger of losing its very essence.
