Ned Price is a former senior director of the National Security Council. He responded to Trump’s threat to use nuclear weapons against North Korea Tuesday. He called it an “irrationally bellicose response.” He also said that the American people should be far more afraid of their president than of Kim Jong-un.
“Of all that happened today, President Trump’s irrationally bellicose response was the most concerning,” the former NSC director, who previously served as special assistant to former President Barack Obama, said in an email to Mic. “The North Koreans still have quite a few technical hurdles before they can be capable of striking the United States with a nuclear-tipped [missile].”
Trump has proven that he lacks the ability and the temperament to have the nuclear codes at his disposal. No sane man or women would want him to have the PIN for their smart television, nevertheless the ability to launch world ending weapons.
“The president’s provocative response makes the risk of conflict all the more likely,” Price said. “And the inescapable truth is that even a conventional spark on the Korean Peninsula could quickly escalate, putting tens of thousands of U.S. service members as well as our regional allies at risk.”
Trump’s threat was not unlike his tweets, which are meant to strike back at one of his detractors. Sadly, thanks to Trump’s visits to the G7 and G20, we have few allies left in the world. He has no one else to confide in or seek advice from other than his own unqualified circle of sinners. Trump is an autocrat and rarely accepts advice from the few informed and respected men in his administration. He continues to tell us that he knows everything about everything. Really.
Trump placed John Kelly in the position of chief of staff. The purpose was reported as an effort to end the chaos in the White House. If Kelly can control Steve Bannon and the other stooges, that is a good thing. However, we know that the one man he can’t control is his boss. Trump is the biggest ‘leaker’ in Washington.
Once more I ask Trump’s dwindling number of supporters: “how do you like him now?” If you continue to support him, you deserve whatever happens to you and your family. You broke America, and now you will pay for it.
Please re-post; thank you.
