William J. Lederer published “The Ugly American” in 1958. It exposed America’s arrogance, incompetence, and corruption in Southeast Asia. It discussed our nation’s efforts to defeat communism in the region, and how it was failing. It also contained an evaluation of Americans in general as viewed by the world’s population. What do you believe the world thinks of us under Trump’s administration?

In the attached article, Dr. T Douglas Reilly reveals what he learned by living in foreign nations, and how the people of those nations view America. The first thing he learned was that the United States is viewed as the most dangerous nation on the planet. Our defense budget is larger than the next nine nations all together. Since WWII America has killed millions of men, women and children around the world; mostly civilians. The United States is viewed as imperialistic and capitalistic. The people of the world condemn our government for the assassination of other world leaders and the torture of those we believe are our enemies.

Now, with Trump as our illegitimate president, we are viewed as racists and a nation obsessed with Islamophobia, and homophobia. His threats against North Korea have created a level of fear not experienced since the ‘cold war’ ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

A recent poll reveals that 54 percent of Americans agree with people around the world, and are embarrassed to have Trump as their illegitimate president. I am one of them.

Donald J. Trump is the “Ugliest American.” This is factual because he is not a true American. He denies the principles and morals of our founding fathers and is the ‘anti-president’ when compared to his 44 predecessors. He is destroying our nation piece by piece, and we cannot allow him to remain in office for four years.
