If you’ve ever read me before, you know that I believe Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to be the worst senator in history and a traitor to the American people. He is also a white supremacist and a bigot. Before the election, McConnell was one of Trump’s biggest critics; a member of the “anybody but Trump” club. Like others in his party, he became a hypocrite after the election, and used unscrupulous means in an attempt to pass a deplorable healthcare bill and serve his fuhrer.

The bill did not fail solely because of McConnell. Trump sent mixed messages to Republicans in the senate, and attempted to rush through his harmful bill in just a few weeks. Obamacare required 11 months before it came to a vote.

In true Trump fashion, he is not accepting any of the blame; it’s all McConnell’s fault.

“You can see the president’s tweets. Obviously there’s some frustration. I don’t have anything more to add,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters in New Jersey, where Trump is vacationing for 17 days.

It appears to be much more than that. Trump is once again displaying the fact that he demands unbridled loyalty but offers none in return. Trump is a ‘loser,’ to use his own vernacular; but he is placing the title upon the shoulders of his senate leader.

The Republican Party remains divided, and Trump is adding even greater confusion and disconnect. With Trump as their leader, the Republican controlled congress is not likely to accomplish anything of importance during the next three-and-one-half years. A leader leads by example and hard work. Trump is a regressive man who does not know how to lead and he has never worked before and obviously does not plan to begin now.

As for McConnell, we must become active and insure that Democrats regain control of the Senate in 2018. Then McConnell will lose his position of power. Only with Democrats in control will something of significance happen in our government. Republicans have proven in the last six months and 21 days that they are incapable of governing the United States.
