Whoever Wins the Senate Seat in Alabama Will Add another Racist to the Republican Party

ten commandments

One of two candidates will be the next senator from Alabama. It doesn’t matter which one wins; the American people lose. Alabama is the most racist and most corrupt state in the Union. There is a runoff for the Republican candidate. The two men are Luther Strange and Roy Moore. Strange was appointed by disgraced former Governor, Robert Bentley, to temporarily replace Jeff Sessions, Trump’s Attorney General. Most believe that his appointment was an attempt by Bentley to halt his investigation into the depth of his corruption. Moore is the former Chief Justice of Alabama’s Supreme Court who defied a Supreme Court order and the Constitution by refusing to remove a monument to the ten commandments from the Court.

The winner of the runoff will face Democrat Doug Jones, but this is a formality. Alabama is the reddest state in the Union, barely surpassing Texas, and it is an impossibility to consider a Democratic win.

Regardless of which Republican wins in December, the people of our nation lose. We need to look no further than Jeff Sessions to understand the evil that Alabama brings to our government in Washington. Sessions has acted in a racist manner for his entire career. It is highly likely that he has a hooded, white robe in his closet. After becoming the Attorney General, he began a plan to strengthen laws which would incarcerate a larger number of African Americans for a longer period of time. He is attempting to repeal state laws which support the use of medical marijuana, although the great majority of Americans favor this practice. Sessions has his own agenda, and all of it is directly opposed to the will of the American people. Alabama is not an ‘American’ state.

This election is inconsequential with a minor exception. Trump and Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, support Strange. It will be interesting to see the influence of Washington in this election. In the primary, Moore edged Strange with 40 percent to Strange’ 32. Can Strange benefit from the ‘Trump Effect?’ Time will tell.

Please re-post; thank you.
