Lindsey Graham: A Single Republican Stands Up to Trump

Graham

Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and every other male Republican politician has refused to denounce Trump’s support of white supremacists; except one. Trump’s detractor is from a southern state, South Carolina.

Lindsey Graham was a candidate for the Republican nomination in 2016. His message was too ‘normal’ for his party’s supporters. They wanted an ‘outlaw;’ someone who would shake up Washington, and they got what they wanted. We have an illegitimate president who has no clue about how to govern our nation effectively, and refuses to learn how to perform the job for which he was elected. But Graham continues to be a sane voice in the GOP. His party is virtually non-existent, choosing to lose all of its former principles and ideas, but Graham refuses to join in the disaster which has become today’s Republican Party.

“Through his statements yesterday, President Trump took a step backward by again suggesting there is moral equivalency between the white supremacist neo-Nazis and KKK members who attended the Charlottesville rally and people like Ms. Heyer,” Graham said in the statement, referencing Heyer, who died from injuries sustained at the rally in the Virginia city Saturday. “I, along with many others, do not endorse this moral equivalency.”

Senator Graham echoed the great majority of the American people while his cowardly constituents fail to condemn their immoral leader.

“Many Republicans do not agree with and will fight back against the idea that the Party of Lincoln has a welcome mat out for the David Dukes of the world,” Graham said.

If the Party of Lincoln existed today they would stand up and demand that Trump resign. He is unfit to bear the title of President of the United States.

As expected, Trump attacked Senator Graham in a tweet storm.

“Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists……,” Trump tweeted. “…and people like Ms. Heyer. Such a disgusting lie. He just can’t forget his election trouncing. The people of South Carolina will remember!”

Sorry Donny Boy, Senator Graham got it right, and you are wrong; wrong for America. Only a patriot should live in the White House. You are not fit to live in a slum in the anti-American state of Alabama.

If I were a member of the Republican Party, I would be ashamed. To say or do nothing after the many, many evils proposed and accomplished by the worst president in American history is unacceptable. I could no longer be silent; no longer support the man who illegitimately defiles the White House. But I have morals and principles, unlike the vast majority of GOP politicians.

November of 2018 is closer than you think.

Please re-post; thank you.
