With an approval rating in the low 30’s, it is a fact that most Americans believe that Trump is not only an unqualified and illegitimate president, he is a danger to our nation’s future. However, there are some who are profiting from Trump’s administration, and their names won’t surprise you. The Koch brothers and Robert Mercer are taking advantage of Trump’s agenda.
Trump’s selection of Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency was a statement that he intended to destroy the agency. The Koch brothers, who are the major manufacturers of pipelines which transport oil and natural gas through our farmlands and wilderness areas, are celebrating Trump’s decision. Trump’s refusal to address climate change is allowing the oil and gas companies unrestricted drilling, even in our most pristine national parks.
Robert Mercer made his billions in the ‘tech’ industry. Trump’s decision to reverse President Obama’s policy of ‘net neutrality,’ enables cable companies and internet service providers to merge and raise fees for consumers. This will result in increased profits for Trump’s chief financial supporter.
Trump is the president of the one-percent. All of Trump’s proposals from healthcare to repairing our nation’s infrastructure, will benefit himself and 584 other billionaires. The facts are there; Trump’s agenda includes reducing the quality of life for the majority of the American people. It is a sad fact that those who will suffer the most are men and women who voted for Trump.
Finally, the truth is that Trump is not an American president. He opposes everything which could make our nation great. We know that he is a white supremacist who would replace democracy with fascism. His belief in autocracy has made it virtually impossible for congress to become a functioning body. Although the majority of Republican politicians continue to be hypocrites and support their fuhrer, the senate will be Trump’s major opposition. With only 52 Republicans in the senior branch of congress, Trump’s vile attempts to pass legislation harmful to the majority have been quashed by the refusal of just a few Republican senators to support him. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, John McCain, Jeff Flake, and Tim Scott have all rejected Trump’s positions on healthcare, and denounce his support of racism and bigotry.
Many are claiming that Trump has already become a ‘lame duck’ president. This may be a fact. Today marks seven months of Trump’s illegitimate presidency, and his accomplishments remain at zero. Congress will not return until after Labor Day, and the Holidays are coming much closer. Next year is an election year for all 435 members of the House, and one-third of the senate. It will be difficult to organize and pass any legislation which has significance. If the next general election mimics our last, presidential campaigning will begin in the first quarter of 2019.
Trump’s presidency will be remembered for its destruction and failure to accomplish anything which will be memorable.
Please re-post; thank you.
