Donald Trump’s Latest Tactic: Play the Victim

angry-trump

Nothing is Donald Trump’s fault. He is the victim of fake news and a conspiracy by members of his own party to discredit him. Trump is smarter than everyone else, and knows everything. If you don’t believe this is true, just ask him.

If Trump is criticized, he attacks his detractor on twitter. If his demands are not met by congress, he attacks them on twitter. He threatens his own party at rallies and on twitter if his proposals fail to immediately become law.

Tuesday evening he wasted more time and money holding a rally in Phoenix. He ranted and raved for over an hour, as hundreds of his supporters left early, and others sat down and signed onto social media; obviously tired of his bragging about nothing. He repeated old promises and attacks. He attacked both Arizona senators, John McCain, and Jeff Flake. Of course he called all of the media “fake news.” Then came the most egregious act of the evening; he threatened to ‘shut down the government’ unless funding for his wall was included in the budget. This resulted in comments from both the left and the right denouncing Trump for failing to understand how government functions.

Throughout the evening Trump played the victim. He claimed that his support for white supremacists in Charlottesville was misquoted by the media, and that he was right. He stated that criticism from McCain and Flake was unfair; that he is the best president in history. He is right and two-thirds of America is wrong.

As Trump learns that his supporters are less enthusiastic, his ego is suffering. His failure to accomplish anything of significance in seven months and five days has resulted in increasing doubt about his ability to keep his campaign promises.

Abraham Lincoln has been credited with saying: “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” Donny Boy’s time is up.

Please re-post; thank you.
