On the Right It’s Trump, Bannon, and Gorka vs Congress and the American People

Hypocrites

Steve Bannon did not ‘go quietly into that good night.’ When he left the White House, he left with a ‘bang.’ He threatened nearly everyone, including the leadership of the Republican Party. Now Sebastian Gorka has also removed himself from Trump’s circle of sinners, and will likely join Bannon’s war. Today Bannon has revealed the focus of his attacks.

“Mitch McConnell, I’m going to light him up,” Bannon said, adding he was also focused on opponents such as China and “the elites in Silicon Valley and Wall Street.”

I say ‘let the fun begin.’ The GOP has been fractured for years. Without effective leadership, it was only a matter of time until the serious infighting began. The failures of McConnell and Paul Ryan to demonstrate intelligent leadership by reestablishing the principles and morals of the once Grand Old Party have allowed extremists on the right wing to take control of their party.

Bannon and Gorka have vulnerable enemies within the party, and they are receiving assistance from Trump. He began a battle with McConnell last week.

The truth is that Republicans have failed to pass a significant piece of legislation in eight years, seven months, and six days. September will be critical for the GOP. They are facing the debt ceiling, and must pass a budget for 2018. They have proven that they are unable to govern and will be forced to deliberate with Democrats. History has proven that Republicans fail badly with fiscal policies, and the record proves this fact. Both Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama saved our nation’s economy. Under Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43, unemployment and the deficit rose. Trump’s budget will increase that deficit.

The TEA Party and Freedom Caucus will see this as a failure. They have moved so far to the right that they refuse to deliberate and compromise with both moderate Republicans and all Democrats.

Our government has been dysfunctional for a very long time; and it’s only going to get worse. With an illegitimate president who does not understand government, and continues to demand passage of legislation almost instantly, it is very possible that Trump’s term will be the least successful in our nation’s history. The 45th presidency will be regarded by history as a complete failure.

Time to return the control of our government to Democrats; time for real change.

Please re-post; thank you.
