All presidents favor one subject; the economy. Trump recently boasted about the economy in 2017. He cited the continued records in the stock market, and fallaciously claimed that he was responsible for growth in employment. He completely ignored the great majority of the American people who continue to struggle paycheck to paycheck. He failed to mention the growing number of American families living below the poverty level. Trump celebrated the success of 585 billionaires, including himself, and 10.7 million, millionaires.
Here are the facts; 78 percent of all Americans survive from paycheck to paycheck; 71 percent are in debt; 56 percent believe that their debt is unmanageable; and 54 percent of Americans who work for minimum wage state that they are forced to work more than one job to survive. Once again; Bernie Sanders was right; capitalism has failed the average American.
Leaders of the opposition party always make the focus of their speeches ‘change.’ America needs real change. Income inequality is a serious problem. Lack of affordable education is unacceptable. Failing to raise the federal minimum wage is unforgivable. Nearly 45 million Americans live in poverty, and this is a crime. The richest nation in the world in controlled by less than 10 percent of our nation’s people; the remainder live in a different country.
Trump is the president of the one-percent; he denies that the rest of us exist. Every proposal; healthcare, his budget, his plan to repair our crumbling infrastructure; would add tax incentives for the one-percent and harm the majority. Trump’s entire existence has been a life of luxury and privilege; he fails to understand the struggles of average Americans. Millions of Americans voted for a billionaire, and expected him to serve them; the term is ‘ignorance.’
Please re-post; thank you.
