Politics has ruined our government. There are 535 men and women in Washington who are more concerned about winning elections and gaining power than caring for the majority of the American people.

Over the last year Republicans have proven me right. Every proposal by their illegitimate president has been opposed by the American people, but hypocrites in the GOP have hurried to appease their fuhrer. After they passed a destructive tax bill early last Saturday morning, they proved once and for all that if the great majority of Americans vote for a Republican, they are voting against the needs and wishes of their families and friends.

Republicans have no ability to govern, and no interest in any American unless he or she is a millionaire or billionaire who will contribute to their reelection campaigns.

Political parties have ruined our country. They refuse to deliberate and compromise to pass legislation which would positively affect the majority. It’s all about the party, not the people.

Independents are the only voters who have American principles. We refuse to vote for a candidate for the sole reason that they have an “R” or a “D” next to their name. For me and millions of others, this is wasting a vote and being completely ignorant by choice.

Candidates no longer must win the votes of millions of Americans, they simply make television ads which lie and criticize the opposing party. When political parties win, the people lose.
