The number is now 12. After nine women claimed that Alabama Republican Roy Moore sexually assaulted them when they were teenagers, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and other Republicans denounced him and told the world that Moore was unfit to be a United States Senator. Trump has offered Moore his full support, and now McConnell, Ryan, and others have added to their hypocritical actions and are serving their fuhrer. Their party is more important than a nation which was once respected for its principles and morals. These are no longer descriptive terms for this government and its controlling party.

Here a two statements by two old white men who do not care about our nation’s future, morality, or its reputation.

“I don’t think anybody’s surprised,” Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) told reporters on Tuesday when asked about Trump’s endorsement. “The president’s interested in keeping 52 votes up here. I’d like to, too. A lot of us have different views on it.”

Shelby is from Alabama, so no surprise here. Nothing is against the law in the reddest state in the union.

“I can’t blame them,” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said when asked about the RNC’s decision. “I mean, let’s face it, they represent the Republican party. … They have every right to support him.”

Once more Hatch has proven that he is too old and jaded to be on public office.

Although I lost all respect for Jeff Flake when he voted for Trump’s destructive tax plan, his statement about this situation is realistic.

“I think it’s going to be difficult enough for our party in the future without being the party of Roy Moore,” Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ).

As an Independent, I have voted for many Republicans in the 50 years I have been eligible to vote, but never again. This is not the Republican Party I respected in the past. These hypocrites have no interest in serving the American people, and are truly Republican in name only.

Not one of them is worthy of my respect or my vote.
