Two Parties as Different as Good and Evil

827e2-hypocrites

When I was a very young man in post WWII America, I listened to my grandfather and my uncles discuss politics. Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower was our nation’s president. The discussion was rarely about him; he was a well-respected war hero. They were more interested in local elections and members of the House and Senate. The most common phrase I heard them say was “what’s the difference; they’re both the same.”

I later learned that there was some truth in that statement. Their philosophies were slightly different, but they not only talked with members of the opposing party, they were often best friends. This is far from the truth today.

The best example of how they are entirely different today is how the two parties are handling accusations of sexual harassment and assault.

Democrats have demanded that John Conyers resign, and he has complied. They are also demanding that Al Franken do the same; he is expected to make an announcement on Thursday. Liberals are taking this situation seriously; Republicans are not.

GOP politicians are supporting a dirty old man for the open senate seat from Alabama. Roy Moore has been accused by a dozen women of molesting them when they were teenagers.

Republicans don’t care; they are more concerned about winning elections than doing the right and respectable thing. Trump has denied accusations by 22 women against him, and is doing the same for Moore. This is the Republican way; blame the women.

Today there is a huge difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans are the party of the rich, and neither principles or morals are important to them. Democrats are not perfect, but their platform supports minorities, women, and all religions. They care about poverty and hate crimes.

The biggest difference between the two parties is that Democrats occasionally tell the truth; Republicans cannot spell the word.

No one defines today’s Republican Party more today than Trump. He is a white supremacist, an Islamophobe, a homphobe, and a sexist.

The grand opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum is taking place on December 9th. The NAACP has asked Trump not to attend.

Trump’s “statements and policies regarding the protection and enforcement of civil rights have been abysmal, and his attendance is an affront to the veterans of the civil rights movement,” said NAACP President Derrick Johnson in a statement.

Mr. Johnson added: “He has created a commission to reinforce voter suppression, refused to denounce white supremacists, and overall, has created a racially hostile climate in this nation.”

We are all living under the control of Trump and his despicable party; and we must change that fact. Use your power; your vote. They are the enemy and we can bring democracy back by removing them from office. Mark your calendar; the date is November 6, 2018.

Please re-post; thank you.
