Mitch McConnell Lives in an “Old Man’s World of Fantasy”

McConnell (3)

If you look at 12 circuit judges, a new Supreme Court justice, the regulatory relief and now comprehensive tax reform for the first time in three decades, by any objective standard it’s been one heck of a good year for us,” McConnell told The Hill in an interview Tuesday. Let’s take a look at McConnell’s little world of fantasy and lies. First of all, let’s look at some polls taken from the American people, not from the super rich or Republican politicians who would agree with the worst Senate Majority Leader in American history.

Trump’s approval rating is at 32 percent; the lowest ever recorded for a first year president. Congress’ approval rating is even lower, at 16 percent. These figures are based on the many failures of Trump and his party in the last 11 months.

The Trump administration recorded its first failure early in the year. Although GOP politicians had been attempting to repeal Obamacare for seven years, they did not have an effective replacement readily available. In an attempt to rush ‘Trumpcare’ through the House and Senate, it became increasingly clear that Republicans had no intention of replacing Obamacare; their only plan was to remove healthcare from all Americans by repealing Obamacare.

Protests across the nation were responsible for the defeat of Trumpcare, although the media credited three Republican senators for doing the right thing all Republicans should have done, it was a victory for the American people; the American spirit.

Trump’s removal of regulations have both short term and long term repercussions. He is allowing Wall Street to act in the same manner which caused the great recession. By removing environmental protections for our air, water, and land, our children and grandchildren will find it difficult to find potable water, or to take a deep breath. The production of food will decrease as our soil becomes polluted with chemical waste.

Trump’s belief in Islamophobia will make our world a more dangerous place. His Muslim ban is not only unconstitutional, it is inhumane. It is actually a facade. Muslims from Saudi Arabia are not banned, although 15 of the 19 terrorists who attacked our nation on 9/11 were Saudi nationals. Osama bin Laden was a member of the Saudi royal family.

McConnell bragged about Trump’s judicial appointments. Most of them are woefully unqualified. Trump’s last three nominees were forced to rescind their bids for federal judgeship after the vetting process revealed that they were incompetent. Trump has expressed remorse about the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. He stated that Gorsuch is “not loyal enough.”

It does appear that Trump and his despotic party will finally have a major accomplishment, although that is not the truth.

The Republican ‘tax reform’ will conveniently not reveal its destructive content until after the midterms in November. The corporate tax cuts will be permanent, but the initial tax cuts for the middle class will expire beginning in 2019. In addition, 13 million Americans will lose their healthcare. Funds necessary to maintain the government and the continuation of support for life-sustaining social programs will be reduced. Low-income Americans, and families living below the poverty line will suffer, while billionaires, including Donald Trump, and millionaires, including McConnell, will receive tax cuts. Over 10 years the deficit will be increased by 1.5 trillion dollars. If this is McConnell’s idea of a successful first year, I am very afraid of the second.

Please re-post; thank you.
