Why ‘Silly Putty?’ That’s simple; he can be made into anything anyone else wants him to be, as long as its to his advantage.
Let’s go back to events which happened more than a year ago. At that time I, and many others, believed that Ryan was a man of integrity and morals. At that time Ryan was not a Trump supporter, but admitted that he was ‘on the fence.’ Then, on October 21, 2016, the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape was revealed to the world. After the fact, Ryan completely denounced Trump claiming that he was a man without morals and a sexist. He mentioned his daughters and how someone like Trump should never be the president. Ryan became a leader of the opposition. As of today, 17 women have accused Trump of sexual assault.
Less than one month after the tape was aired, Trump received the presidency from the Electoral College. Ryan turned 180 degrees and became Trump’s biggest supporter. The term is hypocrite.
Yesterday Trump, McConnell, and Ryan celebrated as they passed a destructive tax bill which will harm everyone other than approximately 11 million people, and murder thousands of Americans by removing their access to life-saving healthcare. Samantha Guthrie interviewed Ryan early Wednesday on the “Today Show.” She asked him about the bill and bluntly asked the failed Speaker; “are you living in a fantasy world.” This statement was made when she asked him how this tax bill would aid the working class. She then quoted former New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg who wrote in an op-ed that this idea was pure fantasy.
“CEOs aren’t waiting on a tax cut to ‘jump-start the economy’—a favorite phrase of politicians who have never run a company—or to hand out raises,” Bloomberg said. “It’s pure fantasy to think that the tax bill will lead to significantly higher wages and growth.”
Of course Ryan responded with a ‘made-up’ statistic which is nothing more than a nod to failed ‘trickle-down economics.’
“Surveys would show the vast majority of businesses are going to do just what we say, reinvest in their workers, reinvest in their factories, pay people more money, higher wages,” he said.
Let’s tell the truth, because Republicans won’t be honest with the American people. The only reason to pass this bill was to please the Koch brothers, who spent millions of dollars promoting the destructive law, and other super-rich men and women who donate millions of dollars to Republican candidates.
It will take a few months, but the entire hypocritical Republican Party will learn that passing this wretched bill is the end of the once Grand Old Party. This group today is Republican in name only. They have no principles, no morals, and no honor. Their party no longer has relevance in my America.
Please re-post; thank you.
