Yesterday the Republican Party celebrated the passage of its first significant piece of legislation in nearly nine years. They were slapping each other on their white backs and kissing Trump’s huge derriere. There were 271 lip prints on his behind when the day was over.
Celebrating this destructive tax bill was a slap in the face to most Americans. It is a huge gift to Trump and other super rich men and women. Because I always promise to tell the truth, this is what they were actually celebrating.
Trump had the nerve to claim that this bill ‘effectively repealed Obamacare.’ It will remove healthcare from more than 13 million Americans. In addition, if GOP politicians refuse to renew CHIP, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, nine million children from low-income families will no longer have access to affordable healthcare.
The result will be the deaths of thousands of Americans; this is what Republicans were actually celebrating yesterday.
They don’t care; we pay for their healthcare. But Republicans don’t believe that you or I should be allowed to seek medical care. Healthcare is only for the privileged in America. We remain the only developed nation which fails to provide healthcare for all of its people.
They were also celebrating an increase in the number of American families who will struggle below the poverty line. By slashing the maximum corporate tax rate, our nation will experience a reduction in federal funds. Badly needed social programs will see their yearly allotment reduced. Today more than 49 million Americans live in poverty; that number is sure grow.
Finally, they were celebrating the fact that in just a couple of years the middle class will be paying for a reduction in the taxes of wealthy Americans, including Trump, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Bob Corker, Jeff Flake, Susan Collins and others.
This is a disaster, and white GOP politicians are ecstatic. On
November 6, 2018 the American people can celebrate after we vote every Republican out of office; they don’t deserve your vote.
Please re-post; thank you.
