Since one of the saddest days in our nation’s history, January 20, 2017, more than 700 scientists and environmental experts have quit, retired, or taken buyout packages as they left the EPA. To those of us who follow politics closely, we knew that when Trump selected Scott Pruitt to head the EPA that his intention was to completely dismantle the agency or to weaken it so badly that it became ineffective.

A little history. Pruitt was the Attorney General of Oklahoma. Big oil bought and paid for his loyalty many times. In an effort to allow unlimited drilling, he sued the EPA multiple times, and continues to seek its demise. Pruitt knows that he is the prime target of multiple environmental groups and has added additional security to his office.

Part of the plan composed by Trump and Pruitt was to rid the EPA of its most qualified employees; they’re succeeding at an alarming rate.

The truth is that Pruitt has been attending meetings with our nation’s biggest polluters. He has kept them informed of his plans to make them even richer. Trump has already opened up the pristine wilderness area of Alaska; signed an order to allow drilling in national parks in Utah; and approved additional offshore drilling.

Trump is the ‘rich man’s president,’ and is causing permanent damage to our nation’s air, water, and land. For these reasons alone he must be thrown out of the White House. Donald Trump is the biggest mistake our nation has ever made. Our children and grandchildren will be paying for the errors committed by millions of ignorant voters for the remainder of their lives.
