How Trump Wants to Allow Employers to Steal Tips from their Employees

Capitalism

My wife Sandra and I worked in industries where tips were 80 percent of our income. Trump is supporting the theft of those tips by employers.

That’s the Trump administration three-step for you: decide to do a bad thing, lie about what its effects will be, and skirt the law to avoid transparency. At potentially huge cost to workers, in this case.”

This was a statement made for the Economic Policy Institute by Heidi Shierholz.

During many years of our lives, Sandra an I primarily worked for tips. We both worked in Northern Nevada Casinos, and prior to that employment Sandra had worked as a waitress. In several states, including Arizona and Florida, employees who receive tips are not entitled to receive minimum wage.

Trump’s Department of Labor wants to change the rules and require gratuities to be a part of the business’s income. This despicable change in the laws is the result of an elimination of a requirement for business’s to estimate the amount of income received by their employees as tips, and place the response upon the estimation of their employers without participation from their employees. This would change the tax liability from the employer to the employee. The result would be a 5.8 billion dollar advantage for employers, and a huge loss for minimum wage workers. The tax liability for businesses whose employees rely on tips would be greatly reduced, while low-income employees would pay higher taxes. Merry Christmas from Donny Boy.

Once again, I am required to inform you that Trump is not an American president. He supports only one-percent of the American people, and if they are not white, he opposes their success.

My America is under attack by the Republican Party. They are the enemy and we must not allow them to destroy the nation of our founding fathers. The Constitution is the greatest document in the history or the world. We, the people, cannot allow Trump and his fascist party to destroy the dream.

Please re-post; thank you.
