Republicans continue to lie to the American people and claim that their tax plan is not a gift to themselves and other wealthy Americans. In an obvious effort to deceive our nation’s people they are telling us that this is a law which will positively affect the working class. Of course every legitimate agency and tax expert has called them liars.

After the expose of the fact that Russia interfered in our 2016 election, polls appear to be worthless. For example; the latest poll claims that 56 percent of all voters will vote for Democrats in the 2018 midterms, and 36 percent will continue to support Republicans. We have all learned that when Republican voters go to the polls, they will vote for anyone who has an “R” next to his or her name; regardless of their morals or qualifications.

Democrats must keep the contents of the bill in the public eye. They reveal the truth. Large corporations and the wealthy will receive permanent tax cuts, while the cuts for the middle class will disappear in just three years. It is the majority who will be paying for the tax cuts for our most wealthy Americans. In addition, our nation’s revenue will be reduced, requiring cuts in social programs including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. The result will negatively affect low-income Americans and add to the number of men, women, and children living in poverty.

The final fact is that this destructive bill will add 1.5 trillion dollars to the deficit over ten years.

Finally, we come to the one big question; should we believe millionaires Paul Ryan, and Mitch McConnell, or billionaire Donald Trump’s own words? As was the case with the “Access Hollywood” tape, Trump admits the truth. Last Friday, during a dinner with his millionaire and billionaire friends at his Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump told them; “I just made you even richer.”

Whenever Trump is in front of the press, he lies with no exception. When he is with his cronies, he tells the truth; often unaware that others overhear his statements.

This new America is not acceptable for me. I love my country, and that means our people. I have no respect for anyone in Washington; none of them fight for the majority 100 percent of the time.

I am anxious for the election on November 6, 2018. As Trump exposes himself and his party for the wretched and greedy group that they are, Independents, Democrats, and some Republicans will return the power in Washington to those who know how to govern; and govern for all 320 million Americans effectively.
