Trump is a complete failure as a president and a human being. However, he may have done the people of the United States a great service. For more than 20 years Republicans have been a party in name only. They no longer have principles or morals, and worst of all they do not represent the American people. They are the party of the wealthy and privileged.

They have hidden behind lies and illusions for far too many years. Their uninformed supporters have been conned into believing that they respect and serve their needs and wishes. The truth is that they have brainwashed Republican voters into believing that if they don’t vote for every candidate who has an “R” next to their name the world will come to an end.

Enter Donald Trump. Not only is he the worst president in the history of the history of the world, he has taken the failed policies of the Republican Party to a new level; or should I say a ‘lower level than I ever believed possible?’

GOP politicians have displayed a level of racism which was unforgivable for more than 20 years; Trump has taken it farther and revealed himself as a devout white supremacist. While today’s Republicans bow to the Christian religious right in violation of the first amendment. Trump has openly denounced all other religions; focusing on Muslims, and has a goal; remove them all from the United States. For decades GOP politicians have served their billionaire donors and lessened the quality of life for the working class. Trump has accelerated the process and attempted to pass legislation which will, as he told his wealthy friends, “make us all much richer,” while causing great harm to the working class. He does not serve all Americans; he serves the rich and his ignorant supporters.

Under the failed leadership of Reince Priebus, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Lyin Paul Ryan, Trump has now completed the goals of the worst in the GOP; he is moving our nation into a fascist state at blinding speed.

Now for the truth; the truth which cannot be hidden from Americans who want to know. Trump has exposed himself and his party. They continue to believe that the American people are stupid. Their arrogance prevents them from looking at the polls. This allows them to believe that they can do something as horrific as pass a tax bill, which is nothing more than a gift to their supporters, and they will continue to receive the votes of their base. And that may be true.

However, their base is dwindling. The old, white men who dominate the Republican Party are out of touch with most Americans. There are a total of 435 members of the House. The average age of all members is 57 years of age. The Senate has 100 members, and the average age is 61. The average age of all Americans is 37.8 years of age.

The requirements to run for Congress are easily satisfied. The candidate must be an American citizen and 25 years of age. For the Senate, an applicant must be 30 years of age. The largest voting bloc in America is now millennials; ages 18 to 35. Soon to be in second place are the members of ‘Generation X,’ who are 35-50. Why can’t we vote out the old men and replace them with younger men and women who are in touch with the majority?

The November 6, 2018 election is the most important election in American history. If Trump is allowed to remain in office until that time, we must destroy any power over our nation he retains. All 435 members of the House are up for reelection. Eight Republican Senators will seek reelection. If Democrats gain 25 seats in the House and retain their seats in the Senate while taking three away from Republicans, Congress will once again be in control of the party which can actually do something; something for all Americans.

A single factor can accomplish what needs to be done and destroy Trump’s evil agenda. Midterm elections all too often reveal the fact that Democrats fail to recognize the importance of elections which do not involve choosing a president. The truth is that when Democrats show up at the polls in large numbers, they win. Join the rebellion and help get out the vote. Less than eleven months remain until the election. Tell every American from the age of 18 that their future remains in the hands of a 71 year old man whose only god is money unless they make him a powerless, obese, and useless man.

I promise to do my part and encourage every man and woman to register and vote. This is our country, not his and not the party of the wealthy. Our future and the future of our families and friends is in our hands and can easily be returned to those who deserve it.

Always remember the truth. America is not land, buildings or the 545 men and women in Washington who compose Congress, the presidency, and the Supreme Court. The United States of America is composed of 320 million men, women, and children.

I will end this with a quote from Abraham Lincoln which, if you read me, you have read many times before.

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.”
