I have been a critic of the failures of the Republican Party long before Trump entered the picture. This ‘party in name only’ lost its principles and its morals years ago, and continue to become less credible. I had a few hopes that some GOP politicians would become loyal to the American people once again, but as of last week none remain.
When Republican’s horrific healthcare bill, which was nothing more than an attempt to repeal healthcare for all Americans failed, I regained a sliver of hope. John McCain, Lisa Murkowsky, and Susan Collins killed the bill and America rejoiced. However, when it was time to vote on a tax bill which would be a huge gift to Trump and his wealthy friends, and damage every American from the middle class downward, all hope was lost.
Jeff Flake, Bob Corker, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins all voted in favor of the law which was opposed by the majority of the American people. John McCain was too ill to vote.
Flake, Corker, and Murkowski were not a surprise; they had self-interests contained in the bill, and therefore to hell with the American people. Susan Collins was a major disappointment.
Although her constituents in Maine were very vocal about their opposition, she cast a ‘yes’ vote. They were aware that claims by Trump and her party’s leaders were all lies. Not only will lower income Americans pay more tax, 13 million Americans will lose their healthcare, and the deficit will rise over $1.5 trillion over the next ten years. They continue to protest and call her a ‘liar.’
This is what Collins said after she cast her vote, and it is nothing but more lies by a Republican.
“I supported this legislation because it will help lower-income and middle-income families keep more of their hard-earned money, boost the economy and encourage businesses, both small and large, to grow and create jobs here in Maine and around the country.”
The truth is that promises were made to her by Mitch McConnell, and they will never become reality.
Collins is another white, old Republican whose purpose is no longer to represent the American people. At age 65, it is time for her to retire, or to be retired by the voters of the great state of Maine.
One of Collins’ demands was theat no cuts would be made to Medicare. She has been around long enough to know that Ryan and McConnell want to destroy Medicare.
“It doesn’t cut Medicare by $25 billion (or any amount), as you might have seen claimed in TV ads. In fact, I led the effort to clearly state in law that the tax cut will not trigger automatic budget cuts to Medicare or any other programs,” said Collins.
The day after the destructive bill passed, Ryan began plans to cut what he calls ‘entitlements.’
When he calls Social Security an ‘entitlement’ I become enraged. When the law was passed in 1935, it was self-sustaining. In addition, no individual has ever received the full amount contributed by themselves and their employers. What happened to our money? What did congress waste our Social Security funds on and damage the future of the best program ever passed by a government which is now entirely corrupt? We have learned of at least one ‘slush fund’ created for our nation’s Congressmen; how many more exist.
Our government has become the enemy of the people. “Out they go.”
Please re-post; thank you.
