$7.25 per hour. That’s what Republican congressman and your illegitimate president believe you should be allowed to earn and support yourself and your family. Of course they make a base salary of $174,000 per year, and Trump receives $400,000. All 535 members of congress report annual incomes of over one-million, and this does not include medical insurance and retirement benefits which taxpayers also support. (Where does the rest come from?)

Republicans have proven that they don’t believe that all Americans are worthy of good healthcare. They definitely don’t believe that our government is responsible for ending poverty in America. They believe that the CEO’s and Chairmen of the Board of large corporations, including the fast food industry, should experience an increase in their personal wealth. They need another 40 million dollar home; another private jet; and don’t forget cases of $1,000 bottles of wine.

Here are a few of the lies Republicans tell when they offer reasons why raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour is a bad idea.

“Raising the minimum wage will result in increased unemployment.”

Not once in American history has this occurred. Actions such as this have never had a slight effect on the employment rate.

“Employers cannot afford to accept such an increase. They will be forced to decrease production or raise prices.”

Biggest lie of all. Most minimum wage jobs are in the fast food industry. These are some of the most profitable businesses in America and cannot and will not increase the prices of their products drastically.

“This should be up to the states to decide what is an acceptable minimum wage.”

If they are talking about blue states, they have made changes. But red states, especially states with a large African American population which dominates the service industry, will never vote to increase the minimum wage.

When Americans have more dispensable income, the economy flourishes. When a single parent works two or three jobs and remains unable to provide everything his or her family needs, this is not American; this is third world dictatorship which has no interest in the lives of millions of its citizens.

When any Republican’s lips are moving, he or she is lying. They are the enemy, we will defeat them, and I know the date; November 6, 2018. Join the fight; we can win. VOTE.
