When I sat down to write this article, I thought of many horrific things which happened in our nation and throughout the world in 2017; no one is sorry to see it go.
I cried with the nation when a deranged man slaughtered 58 men and women in Las Vegas; wounding 500 more. Another man, who should never have been allowed to purchase a weapon of mass destruction, killed 26 in a small Texas church.
The devastation from hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria can only be fully understood by those who experienced them. Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands remain nearly uninhabitable.
There were others; many others which happened and were soon forgotten thanks to other more sensational events including train crashes, bus crashes, and crude oil pipeline ruptures.
Not a single natural or man-made disaster compares to January 20, 2017. On this day Chief Justice John Roberts swore into office the first non-American president in our nation’s history. Trump violates the Constitution daily, and has proven himself to be a white supremacist. He represents only a small percentage of the American people. Trump has placed our nation on the precipice of war. He has alienated our closest allies and offered praise to dictators who denounce American values including Vladimir Putin, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Rodrigo Duterte, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Trump is the most dangerous man in the world, and totally unfit to lead our nation into the future.
No other disaster in 2017 can compare to the biggest mistake in American history.
Please re-post; thank you.
