Hey Donny Boy; you’ve spent more than a week at your ‘millionaires only club’ in south Florida. Have you ‘accomplished any free throws of paper towels’ while bullshitting other men and women who waste their time and money while other working men and women make them even wealthier?
Trump continues to focus on his huge ego while ignoring the fact that millions of Americans remain without electrical power and other necessities to sustain life. There are 3.4 million American citizens on the island of Puerto Rico. After Hurricane Maria devastated the island 100 days ago, little has been accomplished by the Trump administration.
Although Texas and Florida are well on their way to total reconstruction, Puerto Rico remains in shambles.
So far Congress has allotted 81 billion dollars for relief efforts in four locations; Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Texas congressmen have spent hours lobbying for extra funding to repair the cities heavily damaged by Hurricane Harvey. Republicans have refused to offer information regarding how much money has been given to each locale. However, the truth is that 81 billion dollars is woefully insufficient. The estimate to return Puerto Rico to a functioning island is 100 million dollars.
Yesterday, as Puerto Rico reached the 100 day mark, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz praised the American people for their assistance and concerns, but slammed Trump for his failure to insure that all the island’s people were provided with the necessities of life in a timely manner. Mayor Cruz has labeled Trump the “disaster in chief.”
“He was disrespectful to the Puerto Rican people, he was disrespectful to the American people who were leaving their homes to come help us here.
“Where he needed to be a commander-in-chief, he was a disaster-in-chief. President Trump does not embody the values of the good-hearted American people that have make sure that we are not forgotten,” Cruz added.
Although 69 percent of the power grid is operating, it is only reaching 50 percent of the homes. Safe drinking water remains unavailable to over 30 percent of the people. FEMA’s efforts have been described as ‘unprofessional,’ and the locals claim that they appear to be overwhelmed.
Of course no one would consider the possibility that Trump has ignored 3.4 million people because the vast majority of the island’s American citizens are Hispanic. I find it hard to believe that the whitest president in American history, surpassing the reputation of Andrew Jackson, would ignore the safety and well-being of Americans in need. He has told us that he is the ‘least prejudiced man in American,’ and he even said “believe me.”
He’ll get around to helping the people of Puerto Rico when he has time; those golf clubs can’t swing themselves.
Please re-post; thank you.
A final note: Trump believed that approximately 75 people had died related to Hurricane Maria; that estimate is now more than 1,000.
