After Trump was given the presidency, Republicans joined him in one, primary goal; destroy all of President Obama’s many accomplishments. Of course they were also destroying the quality of life for the majority of the American people, but we don’t matter to them. They attempted to take away our healthcare; they gave themselves and other wealthy Americans tax breaks, while forcing the middle class to pay more; racism is growing in America as proven by an 800 percent increase in hate crimes; white supremacists are openly spreading their vile message now that their leader is living in the White House; their next step is satisfying Paul Ryan’s goal of destroying Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. These are just a few of the destructive measures attempted by Republicans who are in control of Washington.
There is one regulation signed by President Obama which will not only remain intact, but will be enhanced. I’m certain that Trump doesn’t like the fact that this rule will remain; its basic premise is opposed to lifelong actions by your illegitimate president.
In 2016, President Obama required any business with more than 500,000 employees to end mandatory arbitration for workplace malpractice, including sexual harassment. It also required them to disclose labor law violations. These cases were now a part of the legal process, and could be heard in a court of law.
In 2017, Republicans repealed the executive order.
Here’s the fun part. With the growing #Me Too movement, Republicans were forced to either reinstate President Obama’s regulations or come up with one of their own.
“Congress is now preparing a bipartisan sexual harassment bill, S. 2203 (115), that would eliminate mandatory arbitration in sexual harassment cases — not just for large federal contractors but for all businesses. The bill’s chief Republican sponsor, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, voted last winter to do precisely the opposite — by killing the contractor rule.”
Hypocrisy has a new synonym; Republican.
Please re-post; thank you.
