As Donald Trump began his presidency, he exposed his incompetence, and his support for white supremacy and Islamophobia, I expected some Republicans; Republicans who cared about their country and believed in serving the American people, to stand up and tell the truth about their failing leader. But none did until Tennessee Senator Bob Corker questioned Trump’s mental competence to be the president. That was then, this is now.
I was hopeful that some Republicans retained at least a modicum of courage when Jeff Flake and Susan Collins joined with Corker and questioned Trump’s mental acuity. My hopes were dashed when the vote on Trump’s destructive and self-serving tax bill occurred in the senate. All three voted against the American people and for Trump and his wealthy friends.
During the 2016 campaign Corker was frequently by Trump’s side as one of his biggest supporters. He is now back where he began. Last night Trump was in Tennessee, and Corker was right next to him cheering and offering his allegiance.
Now for the truth Corker would not like you to know. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell changed a part of the partly handwritten bill to offer additional tax breaks for individuals who owned a large amount of commercial real estate. This also aided Trump’s attempts to increase his personal wealth. Much of Corker’s fortune is connected to real estate.
Not a single Republican politician can call themselves a ‘Christian;’ money is their only god.
Corker helps me prove once again that ‘hypocrite’ is synonymous with ‘Republican.’
Please help me; spread the truth. Thank you.
