Prior to the 2016 election, President Obama called key members of both political parties into the Oval Office. He informed them that the CIA and FBI had confirmed that Russian agents were attempting to interfere in our election. Democrats attending the meeting suggested that the American people had a right to know. Mitch McConnell vetoed the idea, threatening to misinform the American people by telling them that this was an effort by Democrats to rig the election in Hillary Clinton’s favor.
I don’t know how you feel about transparency in government, but I, for one, am tired of our government telling us that the people ‘don’t have the right to know everything which affects our lives.’
Let’s be completely honest; McConnell has been in the Senate for 33 years. That in itself is unacceptable. No man or woman should be allowed to serve more than two consecutive terms. Secondly, McConnell has not achieved a single significant accomplishment in his sad career. From 1984 until today, his only goal has been reelection, and protecting his party. The majority of the American people have never been part of his agenda. Nothing proved this more comprehensively than when he stood before the American people in January of 2009 and promised that ‘the Republican Party will do nothing other than insure that Barrack Obama will be a one-term president.’ He actually kept that promise for eight years.
Clear thinking and honest Americans considered McConnell’s statement racist. It has been confirmed by McConnell’s own words and actions over the last nine years.
When McConnell demanded that efforts by Russia to sway our election be withheld from the voting public, he was making another effort to defend his party and ignore the rights of the majority of the American people. Our founding fathers considered the first amendment the most important part of the Constitution. Our right to vote was viewed as the most singularly important part of that amendment. McConnell removed that right and denounced democracy in favor of fascism when he refused to allow voters to be fully informed before going to the polls.
I have often said that McConnell is the greatest traitor in history to the American people. Today there can be no doubt.
Please help me spread the truth; thank you.
