Trump decided months ago that he would end the DACA program. The facade he attempted last week did not fool anyone. He never intended to allow 800,000 young Hispanic men and women legal residence in America.

An even more crucial program is disappearing from America.

CHIP, the Children’s Health Insurance Program was approved in a bipartisan effort in 1997. CHIP, which covers nine million children, is vital to the health of millions of children. It was co-authored by Orrin Hatch, and Ted Kennedy. It has been easily renewed every year until now. The deadline has passed. When Hatch was asked why the program had not been renewed, he said ‘we don’t have the money.’ However, he has given Trump and his rich friends huge tax breaks, and has approved even more money for the Pentagon to waste.

The parents of these children have no recourse. They make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to purchase health insurance where they work.

Americans who care about each other, are livid. And so are many medical care professionals.

“Much of the high complexity and high cost of care provided to children in the U.S. occurs at dedicated children’s hospitals,” The Chartis Group’s pediatric services leader Brian Thygesen said. “Any reductions in utilization or funding from CHIP will immediately impact the bottom line of the nation’s children’s hospitals, not to mention the families who will feel the pain first.”

“A continued delay in passing legislation to fund these programs for the long term is unacceptable—the negative consequences of Congressional inaction already are being felt and will be compounded in the coming weeks,” a letter from six doctor groups including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics says.

My fellow Americans, do not doubt the truth. Republicans are the enemy. If you are a member of the majority, every GOP politician in Washington supports large corporations, and the one percent, but has no interest in the working class. They have been guilty of racism, sexism, Islamophobia, and homophobia for nearly three decades, and now they have the leader of the white supremacist movement soiling the White House sheets.

November 6, 2018 can become a huge day for the American people. We can take our country back and allow Trump to spend 365 days each year on his golf courses. In addition, we can remove the failed leaders who are traitors to the American people; Lyin Paul Ryan, and Mitch ‘the turtle’ McConnell.
