The Shutdown: A Battle between Republican Politicians and the American People

827e2-hypocrites

Here comes the truth; that’s why you read me. If the government is shutdown at midnight, Republican politicians will have remained loyal to their wealthy owners, and attempted to help their failed president keep a campaign promise. Make no mistake about it; this is a battle for the people on one side and for corrupt political power on the other.

Mitch McConnell cannot pass the House bill without votes from 10 Democrats. So far they are standing on their principles. They will not vote to pass a temporary extension of the budget to prevent a shutdown unless DACA and CHIP are renewed. So far Republicans have agreed to extend CHIP for six years, but refuse to move on DACA.

On the other side, Republicans are demanding funding for Trump’s unnecessary wall, and additional tax breaks for the wealthy.

For the first time in one year, Trump appears to know that he is the president and not a dictator, or a wannabe professional golfer. He has postponed a round of golf in Florida to meet with Senators in Washington. Republicans are claiming that he is fighting to keep the government open; but does he really care? This will not affect him, and he has proven that his only interests are those which are personal. He is required to perform this charade.

Congress and the Supreme Court will not be affected by a shutdown. This would affect those who need their income the most; office staff, aides, the military, and others in lower level positions.

Not long ago Trump spoke to his supporters and said: “what this country needs is a good shutdown.” How does he really feel? The truth; he doesn’t feel anything. Trump has no compassion; no understanding. He is void of concern for others.

If the government is shutdown, you will hear Trump and his Republican hypocrites fallaciously blame Democrats. Although they are in control of our government, they never accept blame for anything. These “Republicans in name only” are the culprits for everything bad in the last 20+ years. The three biggest failures in the history of American politics are unquestionably Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Paul Ryan.

Remember this if the deadline of midnight tonight arrives without an agreement. Republicans are unable to govern, and refuse to compromise. Most importantly they fail to serve the American people.

Please spread the truth; thank you.
