The truth you deserve. 535 men and women who work in Washington don’t actually work. They average 100 hours each month they are scheduled to be in their offices and that is only about nine months out of the year. Much of that time is spent fundraising or campaigning. The facts are that none of your Representatives or Senators actually read the thousands of pages contained in the bills upon which they must eventually cast their vote. They don’t know what they are doing. They depend upon their aides and their office personnel to dissect the core of these prospective laws.

Last weekend these aides and office personnel were unemployed. When the 17 day extension of the budget solution was signed to reopen the government, it is doubtful that one of the 100 Senators read the entire document. Mitch McConnell included provisions about which he was fully aware would give Trump additional powers, and severely damage our democracy. Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, and other Democrats signed off on the provision without actually knowing what they were signing.

These provisions included by McConnell were intended to derail the Russian investigation, proving once more that he is America’s greatest traitor in history.

For three weeks the Trump administration will have unfettered access to the intelligence community, and greatly harm or destroy the facts about his collusion with Russia. When Schumer and others capitulated and signed the extension, they possibly allowed Trump an escape from the truth. This traitor and criminal may be allowed to continue his agenda of destroying my America.

A Republican, North Carolina Senator Richard Burr, expressed his deep concerns about the damage this could do to our government and its integrity.

“This language could erode the powers of the authorizing committee. Effectively, the intelligence community could expend funds as it sees fit,” said Burr, the chairman of the intelligence committee which is running a high-profile investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Democratic Senator Mark Warner made the following statement.

“We just want to make sure that we don’t give a blank check to any administration, particularly this administration. We need to get it fixed.”

Burr offered a subtle attack on McConnell who has lost all credibility since the November 2016 election.

“It should have never been in there, but this seems to be a fight between appropriators and authorizes in the House,” Burr said, referring to appropriations committee members and intelligence committee members.

If you are a Trump supporter or believe that Republicans place your interests ahead of their own, you are a fool and they have been correct when they doubted your intelligence. Trump and his circle of sinners believe that they are smarter than you and me. They are wrong. They simply have the public’s ear and assume that they are indestructible.

I intend to change that.
