Even a Chance to Rid our Nation of Ted Cruz Offers Hope to Real Americans

O'rourke

Texas is a bright red state. Other than Alabama it is the least likely state in the union to elect a Democrat. A serial killer could be elected in Texas as long as there was an “R” next to his or her name on the ballot. We need only look at the two senators from the Lone Star state; John Cornyn and Ted Cruz; to understand the lack of awareness by the Texas electorate.

If the voters of Texas cared about their nation and their state, neither of these men would be in Washington.

Cornyn is nothing more than a puppet for Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump.

Cruz has a well-earned reputation as the most hated man in Washington.

Cruz was elected in 2012, and is facing reelection in November. He is heavily favored to win, but a Democrat has risen to fame in Texas and will force Cruz to prepare a campaign and fight for a victory on November 6th.

A young Democrat by the name of Beto O’Rourke is out raising Cruz, and he’s doing it by receiving donations from individuals; he has no Super PAC. Large crowds of informed Texans are attending his rallies. O’Rourke received $2.44 million through 55,567 donations between September and December. During the same period, Cruz raised $1.9 million.

Cruz continues to have a huge cash advantage thanks to donations from big oil, and other major corporations.

However, even a small hope of unseating Cruz proves that some Americans are paying attention to who is actually serving them in Washington and those who are not.

Cruz has one ambition; the presidency. He may be the only person in our nation who would be worse in that position than Donald Trump. He panders, and lies constantly in a pitiful effort to gain national recognition.

Let me remind you about who Cruz is. He was the final and reluctant hope of the Republican Party in its effort to ‘dump Trump.’ Trump levied a vicious personal attack against Cruz and his family; not a single issue was discussed. Trump labeled Heidi Cruz as ‘ugly,’ and claimed the Cruz’ father had been involved in the plan to assassinate John F. Kennedy.

Eventually Cruz was forced to end his campaign. He then bowed to Trump and campaigned for him after he won the nomination. He remains a toady for the Trump administration today.

Although Mr. O’Rourke is a huge underdog, I can dream. I love the ‘pre-Trump’ America of our founding fathers, and I want it back. I reject fascist rule, and I denounce all Republicans for their failure to place our nation ahead of their pitiful and failed party.
