Almost nothing is universal in Washington. Democrats and Republicans are diametrically opposed on nearly every issue. The one thing every American agrees on is that a government shutdown is moronic and unnecessary. When there is a shutdown, all 535 men and women in congress are to blame because they wait until the last minute to address issues affecting the budget. However, the majority of the blame must rest on the shoulders of the leader of the Republican Party, Donald Trump. He and his party control Washington, and therefore our government. Sadly Trump is not a leader. He prefers to sit in bed eating cheeseburgers while he watches cable television. Trump has not been actively involved in a single major issue. He has no understanding how government works.
The remainder of the responsibility for a shutdown belongs to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. They have failed to lead their houses. Neither man has the ability to use diplomacy when attempting to pass legislation or finding solutions for a budget. Above all Trump’s illegitimate presidency has proven one thing; Republicans are incapable of governing effectively.
In 2011, under a real president’s administration, Ryan rejected what came to be known as a ‘Super Committee.’ Now he thinks that it’s a great idea.
In 2011 John Boehner was the Speaker. He virtually admitted that he could not control the House. It was in that year that the extremist TEA Party began to fight for control of our government. They were not real Republicans, and by allowing them to become a part of the GOP, the implosion began.
Ryan sided with their fiscal demands. He was adamantly opposed to government spending. That was then, and this is now.
Tweeting about the current budget Ryan has conveniently ‘changed his mind.’
“This bill establishes a bipartisan, bicameral super committee aimed at advancing real reforms to fix our broken budget process.”
Here’s the problem; Paul Ryan. Trump and Ryan share many bad things, but the one that stands out is that we do not know where they stand on the issues. They ‘change their minds’ more often than Trump changes girlfriends.
Ryan now approves increasing the deficit. The tax reform bill and this new huge gift to the Pentagon in the budget, will add more than two trillion dollars to the deficit.
The GOP has become the ‘tax and spend party.’ The difference is that in two years the middle class will be paying taxes for major corporations and the super rich, including your illegitimate president.
Bring back our nation; a nation which once worked for the people. Vote in November.
