In 1962, I was a junior in high school. My girlfriend and I had discount passes to the local movie theater. We went to the “Fox Venice Theater” every Friday evening. When we arrived on a Friday night in the spring of 1962, we were somewhat disappointed. The movie scheduled for that evening did not contain any of our favorite stars of the era, and even more upsetting, it was film created in Great Britain. It was titled “Doctor No,” and starred an actor no one had heard of previously in America. His name was Sean Connery.

As we watched the movie, it was obvious that the special effects could only be called ‘cheesy,’ and some of the dialogue was laughable. However, the overall story, and the charisma of the main character, James Bond, played by Mr. Connery, was entertaining and exciting.

When the film ended, there was a promotion for the next movie, in what would become a series, titled “From Russia With Love.” We couldn’t wait.

If you read my articles regularly, you know that I am an ‘old fart.’ I am exactly three weeks younger than your illegitimate and dirty old president, Donald Trump. I have watched all 52 Super Bowls, and every James Bond movie in the past 56 years.

So, why am I writing this, when 99 percent of the time I write about the disasters which are happening within my country?

The answer is simple. Until 2016 I was able to remember the enjoyment offered to me by professional sports and the entertainment industry. Although a few of the Super Bowls were huge disappointments, most were great spectacles which resulted in the ultimate contest in all of our nation’s sporting events.

Although not all of the James Bond films can be considered ‘classics,’ most were extremely entertaining and satisfied our expectations.

Today not only our nation, but the world has been affected by one event; the illegitimate election of Donald J. Trump. The American people made the greatest mistake in history by electing not only the most unqualified man in history, but also a man who has no moral compass and has ambitions focused only on himself and his spawn. The simple joys of human life have been overshadowed by the damage which has been done to our nation and the danger Trump presents to our planet.

The entire world has enjoyed the ‘Bond’ films and to some degree the Super Bowl. However, these simple pleasures have become diminished by the devastation caused by a presidency whose sole purpose is to destroy the foundation of the nation of our founding fathers. Donald Trump is the anti-Christ; the very prediction of the apocalypse. Left to achieve his personal ambitions, he will be the catalyst for the end or humanity.
