The reason I became an Independent voter years ago is based on my opposition all political parties. No single party has all of the answers. I voted for the man or woman who I believed was the best candidate. Many Democrats received my vote based on the fact that he or she supported the working class and minorities. I voted for Republicans whose fiscal policies made common sense. The Constitution prevents government from controlling our daily lives, and many Republican candidates were supportive of this precept.

Today the GOP is ‘Republican in name only.’ The charlatans who sit in the House and Senate today do not support the Constitution. These hypocrites serve the one-percent, and ignore the needs and wishes of the majority.

Now that Trump is soiling the White House sheets, and Republicans control both houses of congress, they are revealing their true beliefs. McConnell and Ryan have claimed to be fiscal conservatives for years, and we know now that they are in fact the leaders of the ‘tax and spend’ party. The difference between them and Democrats is that they tax the middle class and give tax breaks to the wealthy.

Trump’s ‘tax reform’ bill was nothing but a gift to himself and other billionaires and millionaires. The corporate tax breaks and the tax breaks for wealthy individuals are permanent, while the tax cuts for the middle class will expire in less than two years. It will also add $1.8 trillion to the deficit. The budget, which has yet to be finalized, will add billions of dollars more to the deficit, while gifting the Pentagon with an additional $80 billion to waste on failed projects. The entire bloated budget for our military will exceed $650 billion.

Trump is the most expensive white supremacist to ever watch television and eat cheeseburgers in the White House. Snopes has verified that during the first nine months of Trump’s administration he, Melania, and Barron cost taxpayers $147 million, or $16,333,33.33 per month. Over eight years the Obama family spent $80 million or $1,020,833.33 per month.

In those same nine months, or 270 days, Trump spent at least 100 days at his private resorts.

Conservatives have not complained about this fact once, proving that they are hypocrites. Their only goal is protecting the ability of the one percent to increase their personal wealth. They do not care about our nation, and believe that their party can use taxpayer funds for anything they choose.

The GOP must change their name; they are not Republicans, and Trump has no resemblance to Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, or Ronald Reagan. He is more similar to Adolf Hitler, Nikita Khrushchev, and Vladimir Putin.

Every day Trump displays his deep belief in Hitler’s primary contention; ‘telling a lie often enough and long enough will eventually make the people accept it as truth.’
