I don’t trust medical doctors; they fail to accurately diagnose nearly everyone I know, and two of their mistakes cost the lives of people I loved. I no longer trust law enforcement. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 1950’s and 60’s I believed that their intentions were good; at least until my junior year in high school. I certainly don’t trust our government. Every time I attempt to believe them about how they are serving the American people, I learn the opposite later in the day.

Recently when we learned that Congress has a secret ‘slush fund’ designed to pay ‘hush money’ to individuals who charge our elected officials with sexual harassment, I became fully aware that those who work in Washington are the enemy.

With Trump as your illegitimate president, I now have a new group to distrust, and possibly hate; ICE.

The men and women employed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement are lying to us. Trump promised that he would not deport undocumented men and women unless they had committed crimes. He lied; no surprise there. Most of the men and women ICE is deporting, under acting director Thomas D. Homan, are hard working and honest individuals who have lived in America for many years. Many of them own businesses, and have small children who are American citizens.

I guess that with the exception of firemen I do not trust any man or woman in uniform; and I am not alone.

Trump’s xenophobia, and belief in white supremacy is making America a despicable nation. We have never been ‘great,’ and now we are moving even farther in the opposite direction.

Trump is lying about crime, and that illegal residents are taking our jobs. Crimes committed by immigrants are far fewer than those committed by men and women who were born in the United States. The jobs they ‘take’ were earned, or jobs Americans refuse to accept.

In just over one year our nation has become divided between those of us who support the Constitution, and want to see our nation move forward, and those who selectively support parts the Constitution and have joined Trump in his efforts to move our nation backwards into the ‘bad old days.’

Trump and his Gestapo forces must be stopped. I want my America back, and I hope you do too.

Please vote in November. If you do not change the present situation, fascism will soon replace all democracy in our country.
