When the Pentagon submitted its proposed budget for 2019, Trump didn’t think it was enough. He wants to give them another $80 billion to waste. Although it is a fact that our nation’s military brass wastes one-half of its annual budget on programs which never become a reality, or projects such as the F-35, which has experienced cost overruns in the billions, Trump and his Republican puppets raise their funding every year, and reduce social programs to support their decision.
Trump’s tax plan gives tax breaks to billionaires and millionaires, and an enormous tax break to major corporations; and they are permanent. The middle class will receive tax breaks for less than two more years, and then they will pay for those who will receive permanent tax reductions.
Another Trump proposal involves the SNAP program. The ‘Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’ is the agency which dispenses food stamps to low-income Americans and the poor. Trump suggests that the actual amount of the stamps be reduced, and actual food be delivered to recipients. Not only is this a cruel and invasive fascist suggestion, it will cost the program more money in the long run.
Trump’s proposal would cause great harm to military families. He is willing to offer the Pentagon billions to waste, but would reduce the actual assistance needed by thousands of men and women who actually fight our wars. What they eat, and how much they eat would be controlled by another government agency. I’ll be honest; this pisses me off. This is additional proof that Republicans are at war with the working class. Our government is the most corrupt and incompetent in the entire developed world.
Revolution is not just an act which occurs in a motion picture. A revolution established our country. Trump is destroying that country piece by piece. A second American Revolution is mandatory. This revolt need not be bloody, we have very powerful weapons. Our votes can remove the party of special interests on a single day. November 6th is election day. Removing Republicans from office removes all power from Trump. This is our country, and we can take it back. Please vote.
