After the horrific slaughter of innocents at a high school in Florida on Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, Trump left for the ‘Sunshine State’ on Friday. But he didn’t go to the school, or to rallies held by the faculty and students, he went to Mar-a-Lago to play golf and socialize with his millionaire and billionaire plutocrats. He had an opportunity to act presidential and failed. Instead, he put his thumbs to work attacking his critics, and attempting to defend himself from multiple investigations.
His twitter attacks included Robert Mueller, the FBI, Democrats, and Oprah Winfrey. Trump likely had more in mind, but his thumbs got tired.
The only person he refused to criticize was the architect of the interference in our 2016 election, Vladimir Putin. He failed to include his mentor and puppeteer in his foul and profane lies.
Every day when I wake up, I hope that your illegitimate president will not shame our nation again. I’m always disappointed. This buffoon is not an American president; he is a failed businessman taking an opportunity to increase his personal wealth by using the presidency.
Trump’s un-presidential acts on twitter contained lies about Mueller and his announcement that he had indicted 13 Russian individuals and three businesses for their involvement in our election. Trump chastised his own National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster for not defending his position on Russian interference. He remains the only person in America who denies Putin’s actions in 2016. Why? It is fair to speculate that he was in collusion with Putin during the campaign.
Trump attacked the FBI for not preventing the shooting in Florida, but never mentioned the many demands by Americans across the nation that military assault rifles be banned.
Of course he attacked Democrats for standing up for the majority, and for the “Dreamers.” He is more interested in building an unnecessary wall than in the welfare of the American people. Trump has proven that he has an enormous talent for wasting more taxpayer money than any president in history in one year than some did in eight.
Finally, we know that he watched “60 Minutes” on Sunday evening. One of the segments involved Oprah Winfrey revisiting a group of Michigan voters who first met in the fall of 2017. The comments varied. The panel consisted of Hillary supporters, and Trump supporters; some who remained Trump devotees and some who had changed their minds. The group ranged from voters who said “I love him more and more every day,” to others questioning Trump’s stability, saying, “All he does is bully people.”
Trump challenged Oprah to run for the presidency in 2020. She has stated her position frequently. Ms. Winfrey says that she ‘lacks the DNA’ to seek the presidency.
In turn Trump used the same tactic as he did during his rallies when he said the ‘election was fixed.’ He knew it was ‘fixed’ because he was involved in that effort. He called Oprah ‘insecure,’ when he is the individual who is insecure; and he should be; the noose is tightening.
Please vote in November; this is the most important election in our nation’s history.
