Scott Walker Surfaces Once Again as the Villain

Walker

‘The Trump Effect.’ This is not an assumption. This is a reality and should scare the s**t out of Republicans. In January Wisconsin elected Democrat Patty Schachtner to the state senate. She won the special election by 11 points. Governor Scott Walker is a Republican who has run his state with policies of austerity, and anti-labor. He is also a Trump supporter.

There are two other open seats in the Wisconsin Legislature; one representative and one in the senate. Walker has refused to hold special elections claiming that they were too expensive. The truth is that although the districts are very red, Walker is afraid that his party could lose those elections, and reduce his strength in the legislature. The state Legislature begins its recess in May. Walker plans to wait until November to appoint replacements, and seat them in January.

A Democratic group, led by former Attorney General Eric Holder, has filed an appeal in court citing the state’s constitution which requires that legislative vacancies “shall be filled as promptly as possible by special election.”

There is no expectation that a Democrat would win these special elections. However, Mr. Holder and President Obama have joined in an effort to ensure that elections across the United States will be fair, and offer an opportunity for all Americans to become involved in our nation’s most sacred process.

Trump’s historically low approval rating has resulted in a growing wave of fear across our nation. The media focused on the special election in Alabama which became historical when black women rallied the vote to defeat child molester Roy Moore. Other special elections across the nation have been virtually ignored by a media which supports the Republican agenda and a failing president. Women have been winning elections in states and districts formerly dominated by the right wing. The Trump Effect.

Let’s be totally honest here; the Democratic Party is weak. These elections are being won because of a movement began on January 21, 2017. Women are leading the way in a fight to take our country back from the party of fascism.

The tragedy at a Florida high school on Valentine’s Day has added a new regiment of energized Americans to the fight. High school students; the next generation of voters; are marching across the nation. Their cause is the banning of assault rifles, but will surely expand to include the rights of the people vs the domination of a corrupt government.

Millenials will follow, and the enemy will be heavily outnumbered. Old, white men, including Mitch McConnell, Chuck Grassley, John Cornyn, Steve King, and many other failed Republicans will be removed from power. They have proven that they are unable to govern our nation, and must retire.

I lost hope for my nation on November 9, 2016. I found myself unable to accept the reality that millions of Americans elected the most immoral, unqualified, and racist man in America to be their president.

Thanks to our nation’s women, and our nation’s younger Americans, my hope has returned.

Personally, I cannot wait to vote on November 6th. I want to be a part of those who seek the restoration of the nation created by our founding fathers.
