Trump’s Ignorance Will Harm Everyone Financially

Trump defined

Yesterday Trump shocked everyone, including his own party, by suggesting that our nation place a tariff on imports of steel and aluminum. The stock market nosedived, and the only people pleased by this idea are members of the steel workers union. This idea would greatly raise the cost of oil and gas pipelines, as well as adding a greater expense to solar power arrays. Naturally these costs would be passed down to consumers.

Trump has cost our nation tens of thousands of jobs in the tourism industry alone. His family is spending more than $16 million each month to maintain their lives of luxury and privilege. Plans such as tariffs will raise the cost of living, while his tax plan will reduce income for most Americans in less than than two years.

“The actions taken today are inconsistent with the Administration’s goal of continuing the energy renaissance and building world class infrastructure,” API CEO and President Jack Gerard said in a statement Thursday. “The U.S. oil and natural gas industry, in particular, relies on specialty steel for many of its projects that most U.S. steelmakers don’t supply.”

Producers of solar energy chimed in as well.

“I’ve been told that at a 25 percent tariff rate, it could add as much as 2 cents a watt to the cost of a utility scale project. That is a significant added cost, especially on top of the job-killing solar tariffs,” Whitten said.

Trump does not create jobs, he costs jobs. Let’s be honest; after just over a year Trump has proven that he not only has no idea what he’s doing, he refuses to learn, or to seek advice from his staff. He obviously continues to believe that he ‘knows more than anyone about everything.’

Every day Trump surprises us, and not in a good way. His decisions are harmful to the majority. His actions are often unconstitutional. This con man is ruining our nation.

By voting in November we can remove his power and authority. With Democrats in control of both houses of congress, they will serve the majority of our nation’s people, not special interests exclusively.
