Trump is extremely ignorant. That’s not a problem if you are a failed businessman or a wannabee television star. When you are the illegitimate President of the United States, this becomes a serious problem and a danger to the people of your nation. This week Trump made two unilateral decisions which are already a serious problem for our nation and the American people.

Trump has begun a trade war with the European Union. Japan and China are likely to join the fight against a Trump decision which is not popular with Democrats or Republicans. He has decided to place a 25 percent tariff on Steel and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum.

The European Union immediately countered by suggesting that they will place tariffs on multiple items; several of which are produced in the home states of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan.

Trump’s decision was not the result of discussion between himself and his advisers; it was entirely a solitary unpopular decision.

His second, and equally sudden and solitary announcement was that he will personally meet with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un. I don’t believe that he meant what he said, but if he does decide to break decades of precedents and meet with a man who constantly violates the human rights of his own people, this will have serious repercussions.

Kim Jong-un is seeking credibility. His biggest desire is to be recognized as an equal with the United States, China, Russia, and others. If Trump does personally meet with him, he will have given the dictator exactly what he has been seeking.

If we had an independent congress which refused to bow to every demand from their fuhrer, these mistakes could easily be quashed. Sadly, Republican politicians are cowards and hypocrites; their party is more important than their country and its people.

Those men and women who voted for Trump made the biggest mistake of their lives. However, like their leader, they chose to be ignorant. They’re not worth saving; nor is their party.
