For decades American women have suffered from the tyranny of the Republican Party. Old, white men in the once Grand Old Party have controlled their physical health, and forbade them equal rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution. On January 20, 2017, millions of women in America and around the world announced that they would no longer wait for men to grant them equality; they are going to take what belongs to them.

More women are registered to vote than men, and they are banning together to increase those numbers. Hundreds of women have filed to run for office in November. In 2016 women outnumbered men in our colleges and universities for the first time in history.

I have been waiting for millennials to become involved in the effort to save America from the party of racism, bigotry, and special interests. After the tragedy in Florida on Valentine’s Day, the next generation decided that they would not wait for their older brothers and sisters to take action. They have joined together to fight the NRA and any politician who takes money from the gun lobby for their reelection campaign.

Millennials are following their lead, and joining the revolution.

Thursday was ‘International Women’s Day.’ On that day Trump waged another attack on women. He gave control of funding for family planning to Valerie Huber. Huber’s only ‘plan’ is total abstinence before marriage. She once stated that ‘teenagers who engage in premarital sex should be prepared to die.’

“There are no references to contraception and no reference to nationally recognized clinical standards for the provision of high-quality family planning and sexual health care,” said Clare Coleman, president and CEO of the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, speaking about Trump’s latest announcement.

This is nothing less than another attack on women by the right wing. They continue to violate the Constitution by serving the Christian religious right. This fascist organization is in control of all Republicans and dictates their public policy decisions.

Trump’s base; his supporters; compose a small number of our nation’s people. If we join women and the efforts of billionaire Tom Steyer and ‘get the vote out’ in November, we can crush Trump’s followers and take back the House and Senate; we can take back the America of our founding fathers.

This is the most important election in American history. Without congress under his thumb, Trump will become a ‘lame duck’ president. The most immoral and ignorant man ever to watch television in the West Wing will become what he actually is; a useless old, white, rich man who has accomplished nothing of value in his nearly 72 years.
