Steve Mnuchin was found at the bottom of the swamp. This former Wall Street executive made a fortune foreclosing and then re-selling homes during the recession. He is now Trump’s Secretary of the Treasury.
Like Trump, Mnuchin and his trophy wife love spending taxpayer money. Maybe he is unaware that the national treasury is not his personal bank.
The Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, (CREW), obtained Mnuchin’s travel records via the Freedom of Information Act. They reveal an enormous waste of taxpayer dollars.
“From the documents we obtained, it appears Secretary Mnuchin considers first and foremost his own comfort and ease, leaving the protection of taxpayer money at the bottom of his list of priorities,” CREW Chief FOIA Counsel Anne Weismann said.
Mnuchin used military aircraft for seven individual trips at a cost of nearly $1,000,000. Use of military aircraft is the most expensive way to fly and must be requested and approved by the president. There are no records of Mnuchin seeking such approval.
Seems to me he must follow Tom Price out of the door. The same crime should receive the same punishment. Of course this wealthy former Wall Street banker considers himself too important to travel with the common man. More of Trump’s circle of sinner’s ethics and moral violations.
“The public still has no reasonable explanation for why Secretary Mnuchin apparently has never used commercial aircraft while his predecessors did, or why he needs military aircraft that can accommodate 120 passengers when his travel manifests contain far fewer names,” Weismann said.
The Trump administration has proven to be the most costly administration in history. Why aren’t those who claim to be ‘conservatives’ in congress screaming and yelling about the waste by Trump and his cronies? The word my fellow Americans is “hypocrite.”
