One of the primary reasons Trump has ‘Putin worship’ is because he is a dictator who is guaranteed to win elections for life. Today they are holding elections in Russia, and I ask ‘why?’ Any serious challenger either suddenly dies or has been placed in prison by Vladimir Putin. The elections are shams.

This is Trump’s dream; he has many reasons to fear 2020. His approval rating hovers in the mid-thirties. Every candidate he endorses has lost his election bid. Trump has turned red areas of states, and some entire red states purple.

There is not a more perfect example of the ‘Trump Effect’ than my own state of Nevada.

In early 2016 Nevada remained a mostly red state. We had a very popular Republican governor. One of our senators was a popular GOP politician. Two of our three representatives were Republican.

Trump lost Nevada for himself, the Republican candidate for the senate, as well as two issues rejected by all of our state’s Republicans. The southern part of our state is by far the most heavily populated; Las Vegas and Henderson are our largest cities demographically. The population is far more diverse than here in the northern part of the state, and when Trump proved himself to be a white supremacist and a xenophobe, he lost the southern and most populous part of Nevada.

Hillary Clinton received our electoral votes, and won the popular vote. Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, became our nation’s first female Hispanic Senator. Two issues on the ballot supported by progressives passed although Trump and his party opposed them. The use of recreational marijuana was approved, and our state is already experiencing additional millions in tax revenue. Voters also approved background checks for all gun purchases. Nevada has numerous outdoor and gun shows, and there were previously no restrictions for purchases of these lethal weapons.

On November 6, Dean Heller is only one of eight Republican Senators who is facing reelection. Heller was facing a big challenge in the Republican primary from a very popular Danny Tarkanian. Trump convinced him to run for the House and remove that obstacle from Heller’s ambition.

Jacky Rosen will be Heller’s Democratic challenger. Polls reveal that they share a 50/50 percentage of the votes.

Heller has proven himself to be a lackey for Donald Trump. He has failed the people of Nevada for the last six years, and has become far worse since the election of Donald Trump. His biggest obstacle is his support for repealing Obamacare. We are a poor state, and the Affordable Care Act has saved tens of thousands of lives in our state. Tens of thousands of Nevada’s residents desperately need Medicaid. Trump’s destructive tax reform bill, along with his budget will harm many of Nevada’s low-income and impoverished residents.

Nevada will set the standard for this midterm election. If a large number of our state’s citizens go to the polls on November 6^th, Heller will lose and lose badly.

The latter is the same situation for our nation. If women succeed in their efforts to ‘get out the vote,’ and if Tom Steyer influences large numbers of millennials to vote, Democrats and Independents will retake control of both the House and the Senate.

If Trump is allowed to remain in control of all three branches of our government, our nation could become another ‘Russia.’ His continued lies and attacks on our media’s freedom to tell the truth, while supporting the right wing propaganda machine, FOX Noise, is replacing our democracy with fascism. Trump’s dream to become another Putin could succeed far more easily than you want to believe.

Let’s take our country back and remove all power now held by the orange man who is soiling our White House sheets.
